About Us

Pentagon Glass was founded in 1992 by Geoff Russell and Peter Mukherjee, with the aim of becoming the UK’s first nationally franchised network specialising in vehicle film applications.

Over the past decade, Pentagon has dominated this niche market and has attracted various blue chip and prestigious clients such as Aston Martin, BMW, the BBC and Rolls Royce, as well as providing its services to several police forces and fire brigades.

With 15 franchises now established in the UK, Pentagon also has licenses in France, Ireland and the USA.

Following a successful floatation on the Alternative Investment Market in April, Pentagon has raised a further £750,00 to fund its franchise expansion plan.

Pentagon’s main product is the award-winning SupaGlass, a safety laminate fitted to vehicle windscreens.

The product is a cost-effective method of making car glass safe in accidents and from theft, as it doesn’t shatter in a conventional manner.

The glass is held in place by a special membrane, allowing passengers to push it aside and escape from the vehicle without being cut by shards of glass.

As well as SupaGlass, Pentagon produces automotive window tints, which reduce glare and UV rays.

The products are supplied to manufacturers, dealers and fleet users.

Pentagon aim to exploit the vast automotive market in the UK, with around 26 million cars currently on our roads. The firm believes that security is now a major concern for drivers, with incidents of car crime now occurring every 21 seconds in Britain.

Type Of Franchisees

Geoff Russell, managing director of Pentagon Glass, said that all of his existing franchisees enjoy cars.

"We need people to join us who have strong business development and man management skills, as well as experience of sales and marketing.

"An understanding of technical issues is also important as since this is a “hands on” business.

"We recognise that it is rare to find all this in one person.

"We can often introduce a strong candidate to another one from a different discipline so that they can capitalise on their combined strengths and abilities,” he said.

Training And Support

Pentagon offer a comprehensive training programme, based at their west London headquarters. The training, which takes up to two months, includes all technical, management and sales aspects of the franchise.

Financial Details

On top of the initial £20,000 franchise fee, a further £15,000 is required for the training programme. Tools and equipment, working capital and fitting out a workshop can cost up to £30,000, although this depends on the location of the premises and the amount of work needed to update the premises.
