Sorry, I disagree with the above (about the layout at least!). The Google adwords make it very confusing. The ads look too much like content and will trick people into clicking them which will in turn take them away from your site. Do you want people to use your site or do you just want to make 3p a click and lose them?!
I would also change the top images to one wide image perhaps with some kids in if that's your focus.
Colours are nice and the idea is good.

I like the colors not hard on your eyes, which makes for easy reading. I belive that is one of the intents of your site. The only thing that i could say that could use improvement would be that make all the text the same font and size

Are you trying to earn money from site with Google adwords? Then I don't have any comments. However, if it's a info based site you want for people to benefit, I would limit the use of adwords.
One more thing, you have a long list of achives. It's tiresome to go through the list. Is it possible to divide them into catagories for people to click and then take them to the relevant catagory for the links to archive?
