Different channels work for different businesses, but if you put yourself in the shoes of someone looking for a franchise, they’ve already made the decision they want to go into business for themselves but that they want the support that a good business name, a financially sound business model and a strong support system will give them. I don’t think you can get away from the specialist magazines (an advertorial, for example), the various franchise websites (including http://www.femalefranchise.co.uk) and, ultimately, the exhibitions.
Exhibitions are, of course, expensive, though you can cut out travel and accommodation costs by doing your local British Franchise Exhibition (this year’s was in June); however they do deliver a ready supply of prospective franchisees all in one place over 2 days.
A slightly more lateral approach might be to start a blog on Mumsnet and see what transpires.
Having looked at your website, I think you’ve got some work to do to develop the model further to give serious prospects the comfort they will want. The fact of no filed accounts so far and the gazetting action earlier this year will work against you in the mind of any prospect who does a thorough research job, so you’ll need to think about how you handle that, but I’d suggest you probably need to build up a longer and stronger track record before getting serious about a successful franchise programme. I suspect the BFA, of which all the best franchises become members, may take a similar view.

Thanks for your views. I’d still really like to hear from people who’ve exhibited at franchise exhibitions because the feedback I’ve had from 80% of people is they’re really expensive and don’t work.
Thanks also for your feedback on our business…Thankfully we’ve already franchised two branches of the agency- which are running very successful, it speaks far more than our unfilled (and unrequited) public accounts at the moment. 😉

Look. The franchise advertising side of things in the UK is shrouded in mystery. Nobody has stats and nobody really knows what works. That is why I am literally about to launch a full franchise advertising survey. This is going to be an live document that is going to take stats from as many franchisors as possible and publish the results for free to contributors.
In answer to your question about exhibitions… Well lets just say they are traditionally really good at giving you sore feet. The big trouble with them is that they are completely focused on selling floor space and not at all focused on adding value. They also make the critical mistake of offering free entry which results in a load of “shoppers” and “timewasters” attending.
