Advice wanted please on start up grants!
Hi, My new business partner and I are searching for possible grants that may be available for new U.K. startups who are looking to keep their equipment manufactured here in the U.K. rather than have the same built in the far east as is generally the case. By going abroad we could cut the cost of manufacture by at least 50% as eveything is so expensive here, however both my business partner and myself are great believers in " British jobs for British workers" and if our new golfing rental equipment can be made here then so much the better. As we see it, makes not only ethical sense but finanicial sense as quality British parts and labour skills will in the long run far out way the shot term gain in upfront finanicial savings as the equipment will be more reliable when used day in and day out on the golf courses of the U.K. However, as our startup funds are very limited I just wondered if any help were available for such startups as our own. I am aware of Business Link although suspect that people in the know could point us in the right direction. Kind regards – JB
The far east, esp taiwan are very advanced in their manufacturing facilities when you compare them with even the US and UK
I wouldn’t write the far east out of your business plan this early on.
I just posted an answer to a similar question here on startups at http://www.startups.co.uk/6678842910452704313/business-grants.html.
Hope this helps.
