Developing affiliate business
Hi, I am presently developing an affiliate business. I have been involved in internet marketing for a number of years but up until now with little success but I am in the process of turning that around. Great to come across this forum I didn’t even know something like this existed. There looks to be a lot of help available which is great. Hopefully I can give something in return.:)
Hi there rgfdr,
I’ve got a number of streams I’m pursuing – online working, design/engineer
set up, research etc – tell me more!
At moment I am working with Clickbank and Amazon promoting some of their products.
Have you learned about keyword research yet? This is the starting point for selling products. You need to pursue keywords that are going to sell, you need to go after keywords that are not too competitive, and you need to go after keywords that are getting fairly good traffic.
A lot of people go after keywords that get way too much traffic, which means they have WAY too much competition.
You have to get your keyword research down first and then you will be on your way.

Greg’s spot on with his advice. Keyword research is really critical to success. If you’re using affiliate marketing as a business model, you may also want to get the following right:
- Make sure your affiliate links are cloaked. Or you’ll be the victim of affiliate commission theft.
- Once you have your list of not too competitive keywords sorted, set about getting your name out there via articles, social network/book mark sites, PR sites…
- Build an opt in list. Affiliate marketing is part of my business, has been for ten years and 90% of my sales come from my existing opt in list.
Hope it helps, if you need some help let me know

I am on the hunt for affiliate marketers right now.
I have 2 businesses in the recruitment sector that require affiliates to promote it.
The first business is a traditional recruitment agency, where we are selling franchises in the business to potential consultants. The affiliate commission paid on this is £500 per sale, with trail commissions paid if you want to build a downline.
The other scheme is under development and should be ready in the next 3-5 days (just putting the finishing touches to the site and testing it all!) This will pay 30% commission (sales value £125) with a 10% retention on any downline you build. Essentially, selling job and vacancy advertising to employers and recruiters in the UK – with an international offering in the pipeline.
There are no fees to sign up, nor are there any ongoing fees for affiliates.
If you already have a list or want to get involved in selling a product that Business and employers will actually use and pay for, please get in touch.
Wondering if there’s any affiliate marketers interested in promoting web design and development related products? We have recently launched a crowdsourcing platform (crowdlanced.com) solely focused on web design and is the only crowdsourcing company to actually code your website.
We are considering to kick off a referral program (offline) and online affiliate program through maybe shareasale, but we are open to other networks. Would anyone be interested in this program? We can get it up and running within a week. And since we are a start-up we will bet the commission rate of all competitors by a large margin.
Please email me (email@example.com) if you want to learn more about it, thanks.
