How can i make my own website
Hey guys, i have a very big problem! Because i want to make my own website with my own galerie. So it is no problem to design it, but can anybody of you tell me how i can have a url and so on?
What do you mean by designing it? Do you mean creating a design in photoshop or actually designing one using html/css ??
By the sounds of things I would recommend you use a sitebuilder where you literally drag and drop and there you can easily register a domain name and hosting.
There a lot of sitebuilders out there that specialize in gallery making.
maybe these guides could help.. http://www.thesitewizard.com/gettingstarted/startwebsite.shtml

For a website you need 3 things:
The first bit consists of a series of files (usually html, css, php, etc) which tell a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc) to show certain colours, fonts, text, & images in a certain way – which creates your website.
But, the website needs to live somewhere, so that people can download the above information to display on their computer screen. This is could be your own computer, but it isn’t wise as if you get a lot of visitors at once, your relatively small internet connection wouldn’t be fast enough to send all of the information to all the visitors at once, & also when you turned your computer off, the visitors wouldn’t be able to access your site. So instead, the norm is to rent server space off someone else, who has a server constantly switched on, has a fast internet connection. You then pay them a monthly or annual rental fee to host the site on your behalf.
But then, how are people going to know where your site lives? Well, the internet works a bit like telephones, at least as far as telephone numbers are concerned. When you call your mate, you have to dial their number right? Well, thats sort of what happens when you visit a website.
Every server or computer has its own version of a telephone number known as an IP address (check yours out at http://www.whatismyipaddress.com. So, what happens is that you type in the IP address of your server into your web browser & up pops your website. The problem is, remembering a string of numbers is far less easy than remembering a domain name like http://www.coopehost.com right!
So this is where the third part comes in – a domain name. Heres what happens – somewhere during the creation of the web, a series of companies decided to set up a Domain Name System (DNS)Servers which act like telephone directories. So, when you type in http://www.coopehost.com, your computer asks your service provider for the IP address for the site, who then ask their chosen DNS server provider, who then says its number ……. Your computer then visits that IP & as long as everything else has been set up, you see a website!
The governments of the world have laid claim to various domain endings, such as .com, .co.uk, .fr, etc. They then lease the addresses out to you for a small fee on a yearly basis. So for example, I pay a company called Verisign (who look after .com for the US government) an annual fee of around £10 to redirect http://www.coopehost.com to my chosen server, which hosts my website.
I hope that gives you a bit of an insight!
If you don’t mind me saying, it looks like you aren’t too familiar with the whole website setting up business. As you may have guessed, I run CooPe Host – http://www.coopehost.com, which provides low cost websites for people such as yourself. If you think I can help, please either call me on 0121 288 8955, or email email@example.com.
I’ll set up everything for you, so you can get on with setting up & running your business. If you have any questions, please get in touch & I’ll happily help, regardless of whether you want to use my services or not.
Just list out few desired domain names and check online if they are available or not. If they are available buy it online. Its very easy process. Once you got your domain name get your site design. Thats it.
