Ideas of selling legal documents and lawyers directory
Hi All, I am looking for any advice, contributions or a business venture opportunity for the following two ideas (thanks in advance for all the help you can): 1) I started working on an idea to gather information of lawyers, attorneys and advocates and law firms from all big countries like US, UK, AU etc. I hired many entry level researchers to find info from the Internet and finally I have a database of more than 86,000 lawyers (complete contact and expertise info, not just the email address). If I start a directory website, it will be a healthy start with a lot of data and I could start earning from advertising or Adsense very soon. What other ideas can be? I am even happy to work with a firm or an entrepreneur to start a new website using this data. OR I am happy to sell the database to the interested person with complete rights. 2) Similarly, I have more than 2000 re-usable template legal documents and forms covering almost all the categories. These are prepared by expert solicitors and in no way have low quality if compared with leading UK legal document sellers (clickdocs, netlawman, desktoplawyer etc). If you don’t even have any legal background, you are welcome to discuss. I would prefer a joint venture or simply selling the databases to someone who has enough resources to build the sites and run. Regards James
I am looking to set up something similar, when I mean similar i mean a directory website for the funeral industry containing their information, and charging a small fee to those company’s.
I don’t know how far you are on this venture but I have spoken to a couple of a highly experienced company’s who specalize in running a number of directory website’s and they said it is very difficult to get them to pay and you might not be able to charge anything for the first 6-12 month’s due to your site’s traffic.
I still have a lot to learn and am starting to raise capital to pursue this.
good luck and hope all works out!
Thanks for the comments Ash. Very true! Raising capital is the issue. Patience, yes needed. Big giants in the industry give a good bid for buying out the site once it starts getting good traffic and becomes an attraction to the advertisers.
No problem. Also just another thing, if you didn’t know already. Your probably going to end up spending around 2-4k on the finished site, plus around 200 pounds up to 1k a year updating the site. The company im going to be using is global7 I think, i’m not affialated with them or anything but because they specalize in directory websites I think im going to use them but they are pretty pricey lol.
i know a very good Pakistani company Firmsol. They are far cheaper than locals and great quality. i m only their client, not associated for any marketing etc. try them firstname.lastname@example.org if it helps. Regards
