Franchise Brands plc appoints chief information officer to support £28m acquisition

Former Domino’s Pizza IT director Colin Rees has joined the multi-brand franchisor which deals with franchise opportunities for Ovenclean, ChipsAway and Barking Mad

Colin Rees, Domino’s Pizza’s former IT director, has joined Franchise Brands plc as chief information officer; a newly-created role which will support the international group’s planned expansion.

The appointment follows Franchise Brands plc’s recent announcement that it is proposing to acquire Metro Rod Limited, a drainage clearance and maintenance franchise, for a total of £28m.

Having previously worked as a director at Figleaves.com and in senior IT positions at easyJet, Rees was ranked as one of the UK’s top ten CIOs in 2016. He is expected to support Franchise Brands plc’s expansion by streamlining IT and management systems.

Founded in 2008, Franchise Brands plc is a group of international multi-brand franchisors with a network of over 400 franchisees across 11 countries.

The group currently owns franchise brands ChipsAway, Ovenclean, Barking Mad and MyHome.

On his new position, Rees commented: “I am extremely pleased to join the Franchise Brands team at such a transformational time for the business following the recently announced acquisition of Metro Rod.

“I look forward to working with such an experienced management team to ensure their IT systems support the group’s growth both now and in the future.”
