Could franchising be the new business opportunity for you?

The National Franchise Exhibition returns in October, giving budding UK entrepreneurs the chance to meet with over 100 brands

Want to start a business but too worried about the risks involved to pursue it?

Becoming a franchisee gives you the chance to run your own business with a smaller likelihood of failure as you have the support of an established brand and gain access to in-house resources, training and marketing materials.

Next month, the UK’s flagship franchise event – The National Franchise Exhibition – returns to the NEC, Birmingham and will give you the chance to learn more about franchising and how it could be the perfect business opportunity for you.

Backed by industry body The British Franchise Association (bfa), the exhibition will play host to over 100 high-profile franchise brands with prospects for budding fitness entrepreneurs (Anytime Fitness), property developers (Platinum Property Partners and EweMove), aspiring food entrepreneurs (McDonalds),  and much more.

A series of over 60 seminars and workshops will also run across the two day exhibition, which takes place on Friday 13 October and Saturday 14 October, providing free professional advice.

One of these workshops will be the ‘Growing Your Own Business Conference’ which will include keynotes from former Apprentice contestants  Gráinne McCoy and Michelle Niziol and will offer up essential business skills and how to “rise to success”.

For those looking for a low-cost business opportunity, you will be able to meet with a number of franchises which offer start-up costs of less than £10,000 – such as Creation Station and Oven Wizards.

Additionally, the exhibition – said to be the only event of its kind to have received full bfa accreditation – will incorporate a ‘VIP area’ where VIP visitors can hold private meetings with franchise exhibitors to discuss franchise vacancies.

Other franchise brands exhibiting at the event include Mac Tools, fitness chains truGym, indoor trampolining brand JumpArena, and Jackson Fire and Security Solutions.
