Why is she impressive?

As former editor in chief of Grazia and Elle magazines, Fiona McIntosh has a lot of experience in the beauty and fashion world. She has capitalised on this experience to help deliver “a vision for beauty services on demand” through her start-up business blow ltd. A London-based platform, blow allows users to book blow-dries, manicures, and make-up consultations directly to their home, office or hotel. The company also operates ‘beauty bars’ in Covent Garden and Canary Wharf and has become a hit with customers looking to get their beauty fix – over 70,000 services have been completed to date. In June of this year, Unilever Ventures invested in the business to the tune of £500,000 and, in the same month, tennis champion Andy Murray invested to support a £1.3m raise in blow via crowdfunding platform Seedrs. ASOS’ Nick Robertson and Lion Capital’s Robert Darwent are also backers of the business. Not content with success in the capital, McIntosh now plans to roll-out the service to other areas of the UK.
