Social tech funder Nominet Trust has relaunched its annual search to find the “100 most inspiring uses for technology for social good” with nominations now open for its NT100 index.

This is the third year for the competition which recognises the ability for tech start-ups to influence social change around the world.

The public have until September 30 to nominate projects they would like to see considered for the index, with the final 100 selected by a group of industry partners and experts in the social tech sectors.

The NT100 2015 partners will be revealed in early September and the final NT100 published in December. They will join a list of alumni which includes Google's self driving car, Kickstarter and 2013 Startups Awards winner Rasberry Pi, as well as smaller ventures tackling issues in health, education, civic empowerment and the environment.

Nominet Trust provides funding, mentoring and business support to businesses addressing social challenges and has invested over £22m in various social projects since 2009.

Vicki Hearn, director of Nominet Trust, commented: “We have had a fantastic response to the NT100 for the last two years, which we are looking to build on this year as we extend its reach with the help of some very exciting partners. We would love to see more nominations for tech for good projects in emerging markets and from developing nations.”
