Edtech firm Show My Homework lands £2.4m
Homework management platform plans to expand product development and expand overseas
Show My Homework, an online homework management platform, has closed £2.4m in seed extension funding led by LocalGlobe.
Founded in 2011, Show My Homework enables teachers to set, grade and monitor homework and allows parents to keep informed on their child’s progress.
Satchel, a new brand name, has been created to encompass the product and any future products and services.
Today, Show My Homework is used by over 1,500 schools around the world including China, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates. The business claims to be on track achieve 50%adoption across all state secondary schools in the UK within the next 18 months.
The edtech company will use the funding to accelerate product development and to expand in other territories around the world.
There are also plans to open a new office in Dubai early next year and move into the market for private tutoring, which it estimates to be worth £8bn to £10bn a year.
Naimish Gohil, founder of Show My Homework, commented: “Homework is a real friction point between parents, teachers and pupils but it shouldn’t be like that – it’s the only frequent interaction between all key stakeholders in schools but there are major issues due to lack of visibility and communication between all parties.
