Startups receives Best Business Blog award
UK’s number one site for new businesses recognised for providing top class financial support
Startups is proud to announce that it has been crowned Best Business Blog in the Economics and Finance category for Approved Index’s 2012 Awards.
Launched in 2000, Startups.co.uk is the UK’s most popular independent site for people starting a business, offering over 20,000 pages of advice and support to 250,000 unique visitors every month.
The site, which was started by successful entrepreneur David Lester has been recognised in the Approved Index Awards for its dedication to providing start-up businesses with inspirational advice and case studies on financing a new venture.
Describing its reasons for the award, Approved Index said: “Through their blog, Startups provide inspirational case studies, advice, warnings and news, all of which deepen the financial understanding of their audience and provides a non-mainstream take on business financing.”
The Awards, run by UK B2B lead generation and quote comparison company Approved Index, named two stand-out blogs for each of three categories, which also included Marketing and PR, and Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
Recognised in the Economics and Finance category alongside Economics Help, Startups impressed the judges with its collaboration with Crowdcube to provide a crowdfunding platform for start-ups, small businesses and social enterprises. Approved Index named Rob Halliday-Stein’s blog titled ‘How I turned a £10k start-up into a £55m-turnover company in three years’ as its Top Post. Online advice sites Enterprise Nation and Micro Business Hub, received the title of Best Blog for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, while Simonlilly.com and Blue Sky PR were named in the Marketing and PR category.
