Tech entrepreneurs invited to five-day investment summit

Wikipedia’s Jimmy Wales to head judging panel at Tech Entrepreneurs Week

Europe’s largest summit for tech entrepreneurs and investors will be hosted in the City of London in November. Following the success of last year’s Tech Entrepreneurs Week, the event will return in the British capital from 26 to 29 November – with over 450 entrepreneurs expected to attend. They will be joined by over 140 investors for a conference tackling issues around funding and growth, as well as sponsors including Startups 100‘s Crowdcube and Shopow, who featured in our top 20 start-ups of 2011. The event will be split into four themed days – Next Generation Cloud, Living in a Mobile Future, Commercialising Social, and Tomorrow’s Venture Capital – with each day also incorporating a seminar leaders and industry advisers programme. The last day will be dedicated to judging the Seed Investment Competition and Venture Investment Competition, entries for which will open shortly. Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales will lead the judging panel, with the accompaniment of several highly-established super angels and VCs. Speakers at last year’s event included Index Venture’s Robin Klein and serial entrepreneur and angel investor Sherry Coutu – with this year’s line-up expected to be equally impressive. Tech Entrepreneurs Week founder Martin Warner, said: “The feedback we had about last year’s event was awesome, and we’ve worked hard to build on what we learned and develop an even better structure for this year. “The unique focus on investment funding, investor networking, visionary speaking, tech growth advisory, and tech seminar education makes us very different to other events out there – and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible in November!” For more information on the event, competitions or to register for tickets, visit the Tech Entrepreneurs Week website
