Forget voucher code sites, this new business says its solution can automatically find you the best deals on the web. Startups' takes a closer look...

Very simply, what does your tech start-up do?

Pouch is a free browser extension which looks to save users time and money. We automatically find and display the best voucher codes as you shop online, on over 3,000 UK stores.

This means users never need to visit a voucher code website again.

Tell us why there’s a need – what do you disrupt?

It’s simply too hard and frustrating to find and redeem valid voucher codes when shopping online. Additionally, retailers spend millions of pounds driving users to their websites, and millions more optimising those sites for conversions – yet 75% of users abandon the checkout page.

One of the most common causes of this is due to users leaving to search for voucher codes. Thanks to Pouch, retailers no longer need to rescind control of their user journey; the user stays on the website and enjoys a seamless experience, while retailers see a direct increase in sales as a result.

We are successfully disrupting the traditional voucher code website model.

Are you funded?

Yes. We have raised £218,000. We also received £100,000 free credit from AWS, and MassChallenge have provided us with office space for the next four months as we were named one of the top 20 UK start-ups out of the accelerator’s 2016 cohort (out of 1,300 start-up applicants).

What were you doing before starting?

Corrigan was the head of the Nordic markets at the performance marketing and onsite optimisation firm SaleCycle. Before that, he was a partnerships manager and very early hire at Yieldify (featured in the Startups 100 index) which quickly grew to be one of the fastest growing technology companies in Europe.

Simha has over 11 years’ experience as a full stack engineer and enterprise solutions architect with companies like Cisco, Bank of New York and Brilliant Basics.

Plein is a qualified chartered accountant with two years’ experience in M&A at EY and head of project management at Enactus at the University of Nottingham.

What’s the best thing about where you’re based?

We are based in the Tobacco Docks on the MassChallenge accelerator, which means we get to work alongside some of the best and most exciting companies in London.

It is an incredibly inspiring environment to build a business in, and we get access to some of the best mentors in the ecosystem.
