TradeUp Britain aims to help small businesses go global
The free London event is set to promote international trade
StartUp Britain is hosting a free event at London’s City Hall to advise small and growing businesses on trading overseas. Taking place on Monday 6 August, the one-day-only event is to be opened by Deputy Mayor of London, Kit Malthouse. Other guest speakers will include head of business development at PayPal, John Varco and Chinese trade expert and BBC Radio 5 Mandarin teacher, Iris Cai. Since launching in 2011, StartUp Britain has endeavoured to inspire and increase UK enterprise, recently opening its first PopUp Britain shop in London. Co-founder, Emma Jones is confident that the TradeUp Britain event is taking place at an ideal time for UK business owners: “The UK exports £257bn worth of goods a year, with services to go on top of that figure. There has never been a better opportunity to take your business overseas. “We hope this free event will demystify trading overseas and help to open up the world to British business while the rest of the world comes to us!” For more information visit http://www.startupbritain.org.
