On-demand food delivery firm Deliveroo opens 100th UK location

News comes as Young Gun-founded company launches its first TV advert celebrating the “memorable moments we create around food”

With the launch of its Newport operation yesterday, Young Gun-founded on-demand food delivery business Deliveroo is now available in 100 UK towns and cities.

The nationwide expansion news comes as Deliveroo announces the launch of its first TV ad campaign, which it says is “rooted in the memorable moments we create around food, from first dates to picnics on the beach and the first bite of the wedding cake”.

Started in 2013, Deliveroo has now partnered with more than 8,000 restaurants across the UK and recently announced that it had helped create over 6,300 jobs since launch. The number of customers ordering breakfast on the platform grew 100% over the last year.

Globally, Deliveroo is available in 12 countries and 150 cities and claimed to see 650% growth over the course of 2016, partnering with over 20,000 restaurants and employing 1,000 full-time staff.

Dan Warne, UK & Ireland managing director at Deliveroo, said: “Only four years ago our founder and CEO made his first delivery, four years on we now deliver to 100 cities and towns right across the UK. The pace of our growth demonstrates how the British public are embracing the move to get great food from great restaurants delivered straight to their door.”
