This Startups 100-listed marketing agency lays claim to being “the most successful business founded by an Apprentice winner”, able to return Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment after just nine months.

Founded by Mark Wright in 2015, Climb Online is a digital marketing agency that aims to disrupt what it sees as the traditional reputation of “secrecy and dishonesty” seen in the industry with an approach that puts customer service first. It’s certainly had an impressive run since the entrepreneur’s appearance on the BBC show, securing contracts with more than 250 businesses in the last 18 months including Company Check, Groupon, Emirates, Dickie’s and My Voucher Codes to name a few, and turning over £2.8m last year – a figure it expects to double for 2016. As well as his business interests, Wright acts as an ambassador and mentor to The Prince’s Trust, offering free access to the ‘Climb Academy’ to those interested in digital marketing – a course due to be launched in Autumn 2016.

Despite his achievements so far, Wright says he will “not stop or feel a sense of complacency until Climb Online secures international offices and becomes the largest and most desired digital agency to work with across the UK and overseas” – with its sights already set on expansion into Ireland, the UAE, South Africa and Australia.
