Richard Baister, the Young Gun behind Startups 100-featured calorie burning SUMO Drinks and ‘Braintenance’ drink Brainwave, has announced the launch of a new high-protein, low-calorie drinks brand.

Containing 20g of protein and only 90 calories per 500 ml bottle, ProWater comes in blueberry, red berries and citrus mint flavours, and has no sugar, carbohydrates, fat or caffeine.

Targeting the surge in adults adopting high-protein diets, ProWater is looking to offer an alternative to bars and shakes, which often contain large quantities of “less desirable ingredients”.

Currently stocked in Superdrug, the drink will soon be stocked in TK Maxx, with more stockists to be announced shortly.

Baister commented: “In our research, we found that people were struggling to find tasty and convenient high-protein, low-calorie options on the high street, in the workplace or on the go.

“The market has moved on from the days of protein just being for the boys and anyone who wants to improve their diet can benefit from it. We feel we’ve found the ideal balance in terms of creating a high protein, low calorie drink that tastes great.”
