Launched just two years ago by university drop-outs Steve Bartlett and Dominic McGregor, Manchester-based Social Chain has grown from humble origins to become one of the largest agencies of its kind in Europe.

Placing 12th in this year’s Startups 100, the company’s young (average age just 22) and tech savvy team of 80, work with social influencers across a variety of different social media platforms. Social Chain boasts the ability to reach an audience of over 305 million ‘millennials’ through more than 300 social media pages, owned and managed by the young team.

The agency’s enviable client base of international brands includes McDonald’s, Haribo, Spotify, 20th Century Fox, Microsoft, MTV, Topman, Just Eat and ASOS to name a few.

As well as offices in Manchester and London, Social Chain have opened an office in Berlin and most recently New York in after securing a total of $3m investment and as an illustration of the company’s social power, it was behind the viral “Manchester:Welcome to Zlatan” billboard that reached 46 million people worldwide on July 1 2016.

Currently in the process of a large rebrand, development of its own software for influencer discovery, and launching various products such as Love Food Box, Social Chain’s meteoric rise shows no signs of abating, with an estimated £8m in turnover projected for next year.
