Augmented reality firm Zappar lands $3.75m Series A
Partner to Coca Cola, Sony and Universal, start-up will use funding to develop products, make hires and expand internationally
Zappar, a developer of augmented reality (AR) tools and experiences, has secured $3.75m in Series A funding from Hargreave Hale, You & Mr Jones and Chinese app developer iDreamSky.
Founded in 2011 at the University of Cambridge, Zappar is an app that brings things to life through AR. By reading ‘Zapcodes’ it can deliver video, audio, 3D animation, photos, games and links.
The business has worked with over 200 partners to date including major global brands like Universal, Sony, Playstation, Coca Cola and moonpig.com to name a few.
Zappar will use the funding to accelerate the development of new products, bolster its team and to fuel international expansion
