12 days of start-ups: Spectacular businesses set for stardom in 2016

Find out who the best start-ups launched in 2015 are, as we unveil our favourite businesses day-by-day in the lead up to Christmas...

Roll over the numbers above to reveal our winners each day…

The Christmas season is one steeped in tradition – and while December means decorations, mince pies (and the occasional festive party!), for us at Startups Towers it’s also a month for reflection, and a chance to look forward with predictions for the year ahead.

Working in the Startups.co.uk team, we’re in the extremely fortunate position of hearing about, covering and meeting some of the UK’s brightest entrepreneurial talent and their fledgling businesses – often at the very beginning of their business journeys. Occasionally, we’ll give a brand new business its very first coverage, which is always pretty special. And there’s no greater feeling than watching that very same business go on to great heights.

While we cover hundreds of businesses each year, every December we hand-pick a selection of start-ups we think have what it takes to become global superstars in the years to come. It’s an almost impossible task, but although there’s no scientific formula for running a successful business, many of the UK’s fastest-growing firms do share a number of winning traits. Namely, an impressive founding team, plenty of market potential, often, but not always, significant investment – and that extra sprinkling of pizzazz.

And this year, since it tis the season to be jolly, we thought we’d give our index of the best businesses to have launched in 2015 a seasonal twist!

Aptly titled the 12 days of start-ups (do you see what we did there?), to add to the excitement, we’ll be unveiling our chosen businesses day-by-day (excluding weekends – we do need some time for Christmas shopping!). So, in order of launch date, we’ll put a great start-up in the spotlight right up until Christmas Eve.

For this year’s named businesses, not only will they be joining an exclusive and pretty illustrious alumni of start-ups we’ve named previously – they’ll also have a heap of dedicated promotion on the day they’re named, from plenty of shout-outs to our 60,000 strong Twitter followers to a prime spot on our homepage.
