2014’s biggest investments: Zopa £15m

Arrowgrass Capital investment for peer-to-peer lending and borrowing marketplace

Crowdfunding loans site Zopa raised £15m from asset manager Arrowgrass Capital. One of the first peer-to-peer lending and borrowing marketplaces, the company was founded in 2005 by Giles Andrews and has grown into one of the leading companies in the European alternative finance sector. The finance will be used to support its rapid growth and fund “increased awareness” of its offerings amongst UK consumers.
