Majority of consumers search for companies online yet 58% of all UK businesses have zero or no digital engagement
Internet spending in the UK is on the rise with £68.2bn spent online last year, according to a new infographic published by Nominet.
The .uk domain name provider reports that, while the majority (85%) of consumers search for local companies online, an alarming number of businesses across the country – 58% – have zero or no digital engagement and 55% of small businesses don’t have a web presence entirely.
Asking “Is your business visible?”, the infographic advises business owners to consider purchasing a .uk domain in order to compete with the 500,000 start-ups which launch in the UK each year.
It also claims that 80% of UK internet users would be more likely to click on a .uk website from search results.
