Ableworld joins social enterprise fund to create new franchise opportunities

Mobility retailer joins FranchisingWorks programme to increase recruitment of “driven and ambitious” franchisees

Leading mobility franchise Ableworld has been accepted onto the FranchisingWorks programme as an approved member, a move which will enable it to invest in franchise licences and provide new franchisees with extra financial support.

Backed by Big Society Capital and the Esme Fairbairn Foundation, FranchisingWorks is a social enterprise that looks to help create businesses and jobs through franchising and boasts a £1m investment fund; designed to ‘plug the gap’ for entrepreneurs struggling to raise finance for a franchise business.

Ableworld’s acceptance onto the programme will make it part of a select group of franchisors who have access to the fund and will be able to offer investment, facilitated by FranchisingWorks, to prospective franchisees.

Establised in 2001, Ableworld says it one of the country’s largest mobility and homecare retailers and sells products and services to the elderly and disabled.

It is keen to use the programme to grow its franchise brand and has opportunities across the UK for an initial fee of £29, 950 which includes training, access to individual mentors, and following the new arrangement; help with arranging finance.
