Supply teacher platform Airsupply clinches £250,000 funding

Funding will enable company to scale platform that matches schools with local and available supply teachers

Airsupply, the platform that connects schools to supply teachers, has raised £250,000 in funding from Forward Partners.

Founded in 2016 by Karin Hogsander, Airsupply is aiming to disrupt the traditional agency recruitment model by connecting supply teacher with nearby schools looking to fill temporary vacancies.

Supply teachers can state their available dates, teaching preferences and day rate expectations and schools can post their requirements. The platform can then match teachers to schools and connect them directly.

Currently running pilots with Essex County Council, Croydon and other areas in South London, the funding will be used to fuel Airsupply’s growth as it looks to scale rapidly.

Hogsander commented: “We are hugely excited to announce our early stage funding and to be partnering with Forward Partners.

“This investment will help us to innovate the current agency model which can be improved upon for schools, teachers and pupils in order to deliver a much better solution all round. We hope to enable schools to free up budgets, driving them towards resourcing and pupils’ needs rather than agency bottom lines.”

Nic Brisbourne, managing partner at Forward Partners, said: “We’re incredibly pleased to invest in Karin and her talented team at Airsupply. We see huge potential in the business and the mission it’s on to change the way in which schools seek talented supply teaching staff.”
