Angel CoFund celebrates second anniversary with £79m invested
38 businesses backed by the fund in the two years since its launch
Private angel investor network the Angel CoFund is celebrating its second birthday this month and has released an infographic of information and facts around its investment history.
Sponsored by the new British Business Bank and the government’s Regional Growth Fund, the £100m Angel CoFund works with groups of business angels to invest in high growth small and medium-sized businesses across the UK, investing between £100,000 to £1m alongside these syndicate groups.
To date the fund has backed 38 companies, including Startups Awards 2013 winner YPlan, with £14m invested directly alongside £65m from angel investors.
Providing insights into the UK’s business landscape, the infographic presents the average age of entrepreneurs seeking angel backing and popular areas for specific industries such as technology and financial services.
