Deal sees founders of the planning application site exit the business

Archant Digital Ventures, the investment and incubator arm of UK regional media company Archant, has completed the acquisition of planning application site

Launched in 2010, provides a platform which brings together commercial and domestic planning requests from all council authorities in the UK to inform registered users of current planning applications submitted in their local area.

Acquired for an undisclosed amount, the deal sees the original founders of the platform exiting the business with Archant Digital Ventures, who already had a majority stake holding after a previous investment, taking full equity.

The media company intends to use the deal to drive further growth within the marketplace after recently adding fast-growth social network Streetlife and wedding planning service Wedding Site to its portfolio.

Managing director of Archant Digital Ventures, Serge Taborin (pictured), commented on the announcement:

“We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of and see it as a valuable asset in our strategy aimed at extending the relationship with our local communities, be they private, public or commercial.

“Complementing other local digital assets in our portfolio, including our own local news sites, community-driven website, and several other locally-focused services, is an important addition to this digital ecosystem.”
