Argentis, which looks after more than £2bn in client assets, will continue to operate from its offices in Canterbury and Croydon

Argentis, the Canterbury-based financial planning and employee benefits consultant, has been acquired by US insurance brokerage Arthur J Gallagher & Co.

Founded in 2005, Argentis provides benefit and wealth management services to private and corporate clients in the UK, including investment solutions, executive pensions, estate planning, insurance protection and retirement planning.

Today, the company operates a second office in Croydon and is responsible for over £2bn in client assets.

Chairman and chief executive David Taplin and his employees will continue to operate throughout the South of England, reporting through Gallagher’s international employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations Leslie Lemenager.

J. Patrick Gallagher, CEO of Arthur J Gallagher & Co., commented: “The Argentis team has the expertise, professional partnerships and high-quality service that we value in an acquisition partner.

“In addition, their strong presence in England and their team-based sales culture will be terrific complements to our growing UK employee benefits consulting operation. We are pleased to welcome Taplin and his associates to our Gallagher family of professionals.”
