Bacon, Eggs, Entrepreneurs and lots of money
Amanda Boyle backs networkers BEE for an undisclosed sum
Businesswoman Amanda Boyle has made a sizzling new investment into the networking group Bacon, Eggs and Entrepreneurs (BEE).
BEE runs speed networking events as well as using internet-based social networking ideas to help businesses make contacts.
Founded by Tricia Fox, the company has 15 branches in the UK, with 10 in Scotland plus branches in Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham.
Boyle, who co-founded Caledonia Contracts, a £4m-year Dundee-based shop-fitting company, is to become the company’s executive chairman after investing an undisclosed sum.
She has enjoyed a glittering career; winning titles such as the Association of Scottish Businesswomen’s first ever Woman of Achievement Award in 2005 and the IoD’s awards for Female Director of the Year and Non-Executive Director of the Year.
Boyle is also a member of the CBI Scotland’s council, and an active member of the Entrepreneurial Exchange.
She said: “I’ve worked with BEE founder, Tricia Fox for several years. Tricia is a serial entrepreneur with exceptional energy and ideas.
“The opportunity to invest in BEE at an early stage was too good to miss and I welcome the challenge of taking BEE to the next level.”
Fox said: “I am already benefiting enormously from Amanda’s broader business experience, support and advice.
“With Amanda on board, and her financial backing, our future is considerably more secure, and we can concentrate on developing and delivering tools for growth and profitability for members.”
