Oxford Capital leads investment for revolutionary online shop


BagThat, a game-changing online shopping concept which enables consumers to decide how much they are prepared to pay for their favourite items, has completed the first close of a £2m funding round.

The round has been led by Oxford Capital, a venture capital firm specialising in the science and technology sectors. BagThat, which invites users to come together via social networks and name their price for popular items, will use the new funding to ramp up its development and marketing efforts. The Milton Keynes-based start-up has already secured model Jodie Kidd as a brand ambassador, and secured agreements with major brands such as Samsung and Halfords. Found and chief executive Andy Sutton said: “Oxford Capital has done a terrific job in leading our funding round, in particular helping us to build connections with new investors. “They (Oxford) are great advocates for UK growth businesses and their management input and expertise in helping business to grow has been hugely valuable as we have worked together to develop and launch BagThat.”
