Barclays and Techstars’ fintech accelerator open for business
Last year's programme saw seven out of 10 start-ups secure commercial agreements with Barclays
Barclays and global accelerator Techstars have officially opened entries for the third cohort of their London-based accelerator programme, with spaces available for 10 businesses “innovating” in the financial technology (fintech) space.
The 13-week programme will guide entrepreneurs and start-ups through the process of growing and developing their businesses, with access to mentoring from industry experts and up to $100,000 in funding from Techstars.
Mentors will include Derek White;chief design and digital officer at Barclays; Claire Gates; group head key issuers at Mastercard, and David Cohen and David Brown of Techstars.
Businesses from around the world can apply for the London accelerator – based at Central Working in Whitechapel – which begins at the end of January 2016.
This is the third year for the programme, which also runs in New York, and could open up commercial opportunities for businesses involved – seven of last year’s cohort signed deals with Barclays.
Applications for the accelerator close on 11 October 2015.
