Baskin-Robbins set to expand UK franchise opportunity

Leading US ice cream chain continues to extend international reach with more European expansion

International ice cream chain Baskin-Robbins has announced further plans for expansion across major UK cities.

The news was announced as part of an overall strategy to grow the brand internationally, which involves further expansion in Europe with a particular focus on the UK.

The brand has already opened 125 locations throughout the UK and in February this year offered single store franchise opportunities for the first time.

The company, famous for its many innovative ice cream flavours, is now looking for experienced individuals with entrepreneurial spirit to become franchisees of both single and multi-stores.

Candidates with backgrounds in finance and business are desirable, along with a strong knowledge of customers in their local area.

A minimum liquid capital of £60,000 is mandatory for the minimum single store cost of £120,000.

Baskin Robbins originated in Glendale, California, in 1945 and is now the largest chain of ice cream shops. Since pioneering the concept of franchising in the ice cream industry, the brand has grown to 7,300 stores in nearly 50 countries.

Jeremy Vitaro, vice president of international development for Dunkin’ Brands, commented: “Expansion in the United Kingdom will provide Baskin-Robbins with a strong growth opportunity.

“We are eager to bring the brand’s broad assortment of delicious ice cream flavours to additional areas across the country.”
