Baskin-Robbins welcomes serial franchisee to growing franchise network

Costa Coffee and Pizza Hut franchisee Zul Chagani adds ice cream chain to portfolio

International ice cream and sweet-treat franchise Baskin-Robbins has announced that experienced franchisee Zul Chagani has become its latest multi-store franchise recruit, opening a new store in Amersham.

The partnership marks one of a series of franchise ventures for Chagani who currently runs eight Pizza Hut stores and 15 Costa Coffee shops.

Chagani chose to join the ice cream chain on the grounds that it would provide opportunities to expand his business portfolio and would “fit in well” with his existing food and drink offerings.

Having launched the Baskin-Robbins Amersham store last month, Chagani is already looking to utilise the multi-store franchise agreement with plans for a second site and “many more to come”.

Founded in the US in 1945, Baskin-Robbins specialises in ice-cream, frozen drinks and ice-cream cakes and has over 6,000 stores in 50 countries worldwide.

Its multi-store franchise packages require a minimum of £150,000 liquid capital for a two store portfolio with the ability to extend this to a five store development agreement.

Chagani commented on his latest franchise addition:

“We have always liked Baskin-Robbins’ products. For us it is important that we like and believe in the product that we sell, that’s how we have chosen our previous businesses as well.”
