Bauer Media launches €100m European fund
Media giant’s new venture will support investments in several digital businesses over next 10 years
Media organisation Bauer has announced that it is to launch an investment arm, Bauer Venture Partners, a €100m fund for digital start-ups and early-stage technology businesses across Europe.
Established in 1875 in Germany, Bauer Media Group owns several leading magazine titles, radio stations and TV stations such as heat, GRAZIA, Kiss 100, Kerrang and 4Music.
Claiming to be one of Europe’s largest privately-owned publishing groups, Bauer intends for its new capital venture fund to support the growth of the media and digital sector and will back investments over the next 10 years.
Thomas Preuss, former managing partner of early-stage German venture capital firm Neuhaus Partners, will head up the fund as managing partner and CEO.
