BCMS Corporate completes sale of Campbell Collins

Hertfordshire-based power supply distributor acquired by US firm TTI

Mergers and acquisitions specialist BCMS Corporate announced on Tuesday that they had completed the sale of UK niche electronics distributor Campbell Collins to Texas-based supplier TTI.

Founder Ian Campbell recently announced his intention to retire from Stevenage-based Campbell Collins and had approached BCMS for assistance with selling the business, which has supplied electronics components from major manufacturers to companies within the sector for more than 30 years. BCMS Corporate reported that interest in the company was high, with over half a dozen potential buyers expressing ‘serious interest’ in the sale. The new deal means that Campbell Collins will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Texas electronics distributor TTI, which employs 2,800 people across Asia, Europe and North America. Philip Goff will replace founder Ian Campbell, becoming the new General Manager, and all other staff are set to be retained. Ian Campbell, Founder and Managing Director of Campbell Collins, said of the deal: “I am very grateful to the team at BCMS Corporate for the expertise they have shown throughout the whole process. “Selling a business is never easy, especially one into which you have invested so much time and energy, which is why I am delighted to have found a partner in TTI who shares our belief in the future direction of Campbell Collins.”
