Beer jelly start-up Manfood crowned ‘Britain’s Next Top Supplier’

Chutney business wins Ocado competition with support from judges Tom Kerridge and Lord Stuart Rose

A Cambridgeshire start-up specialising in pickles, chutneys and beer jellies – Manfood – has been identified as ‘Britain’s Next Top Supplier’ in a nationwide competition ran by online retailer Ocado.

The competition, which relaunched earlier this year, sought to identify the UK’s best innovative small and medium businesses not yet stocked with major supermarket retailers with Michelin star chef Tom Kerridge and retail entrepreneur Lord Stuart Rose on the judging panel.

Beating 50 finalists, Manfood will now look to drive expansion having won a prize of £20,000 marketing spend, a year’s listing on Ocado and mentoring from last year’s winner.

The business currently employs a team of four and also creates sauces and cocktail jams.
