Belvoir franchisee builds on success with second office opening

Charlotte Baker latest owner to expand territory as property chain ramps up franchise recruitment drive

AIM-listed property management chain Belvoir has expanded its reach with the addition of its new Bingham office, opened by long-standing franchisee Charlotte Baker.

Owner of the Melton Mowbray outlet since 1998, Baker decided to take on a second agency “to help grow the business while building on [its existing] success” with employees, Graham Croft and Katie Archer, joining her as franchise owners.

Said to reflect the long-term opportunities available for its franchisees and their staff, Belvoir is looking to scale further and is keen to attract budding entrepreneurs interested in the property industry.

Founded in 1995, Belvoir is one of the largest specialist lettings agency franchises in the UK and has over 160 offices nationwide and intends to have a network of 200 franchises by 2017.

It has franchisees available for a one-off fee of £22,500 + VAT which includes an assigned business mentor, ongoing training and training webinars, and support with finding premises and marketing your business.

Discussing her latest venture, Baker said: “Because we already have an experienced team in place, plus a number of successful tried and tested systems for managing rental property, it seemed a logical next step to expand our business by opening an additional office in a nearby town.

“We decided to launch in Bingham because it borders on our territory and it has got a really buoyant property market – in fact, last year it was cited in the media as one of the top 10 places to live.

“Having [Croft and Archer] on board will enable the business to grow further and faster and, ideally, we’d like to add an additional 100 managed properties to our portfolio.”
