The proposition:
Blink Booking partners with premium hotels, then gets them to compete to offer the best price for a same-day stay

Rebeca Minguela, co-founder and chief marketing officer (CMO) of Blink Booking, saw a unique opportunity to bring a mobile-centric service to the London hotel booking market this summer, to capitalise on an estimated 450,000 visitors to the capital.

“Travel is now so last second, people don’t want hundreds of options, but a curated selection of premium accommodation at the best prices for easy, immediate booking, which is what Blink Booking is able to provide.

“We allow boutique hotels in cities across Europe to compete to offer the best price for a stay beginning that evening, and have been able to secure guaranteed availability with partners in London during the Olympics.

“The Olympics, combined with the upcoming Jubilee celebrations, make London the ideal market for innovative, growing businesses, particularly those in the travel and tourism sector.”

In the UK, the app currently serves London, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Cardiff, and more cities will be added in the coming months. Hotels must have either four or five stars, the best locations and great customer ratings to partner with Blink, ensuring the highest quality of accommodation. New customers are currently being offered £15 towards their first stay, and an additional £15 for recommending to friends who subsequently make a booking. Blink has successfully launched in the UK and seven European countries, and has attracted $2.5m from prominent US and European angels and venture capitalists.
