Boot camp company plans to bulk up with English franchise extension

Management hopes to build on 11-fold profit increase last year

A Scottish outdoor exercise company has announced plans to extend its franchise network into England. Burn It, which was launched in Livingston in 2010, is striving to become a “household name” across Britain with its boot camp-style fitness classes and team-building exercises. Founded by experienced fitness industry professionals Paul Duffy and John Laurie, Burn It has already launched franchises in 12 major Scottish regions, and this strategy has helped drive rapid growth in recent months. Last year, turnover doubled to £122,000, while profits increased eleven-fold to £33,000. Burn It’s management team expect revenue to double again in 2012.
