BorrowMyDoggy lands £1.5m crowdfunding
London start-up which connects dog-owners with sitters plans to launch additional user features and an Android app
Online dog sharing community BorrowMyDoggy has raised £1.5m crowdfunding boosted by its pitch for investment at the UK’s first live crowdfunding summit Crowdfinders last week.
Launched in 2012 by Rikke Rosenlund, London-based BorrowMyDoggy connects dog-owners with sitters and has grown to a community of over 250,000 members in the UK and Ireland.
It intends to use the finance to expand its services; including additional user features and its first Android app, alongside developing its “dog-loving” user base.
The crowdfunding was raised by Rosenlund at the Crowdfinders Live summit where she pitched the business to a room of 400 angel and high-net-worth investors – inlcuding IW Capital – who were then able to submit live investments through the course of the pitch.
Rosenlund commented: “It was great to attend the event and to be able to pitch in front of such a large group of investors. […] I am thankful to have been part of it and to work with both Crowdfinders and IW Capital.”
