BT Business Mobile launches 4G service

All new plans for small and medium-sized firms to come with 4G and unlimited wi-fi

Telecoms giant BT today announced the roll-out of a new 4G service for business customers, which it says will allow users to access high-speed internet on the move.

New BT Business Mobile accounts will come with 4G access and unlimited BT wi-fi as standard, meaning business customers can now utilise the markedly enhanced connection speeds 4G offers.

BT said its 4G service can allow customers to run cloud-based applications on the move, download large files and documents, and stream HD video on the move.

The service will run using EE’s existing 4G infrastructure, after the two firms signed a deal to provide joint access to their networks for customers earlier this year.

Both new and existing customers will also be able to connect to one of around 5 million BT wi-fi hotspots around the UK for free by downloading the BT wi-fi app.

Existing customers will receive access to 4G when they renew or upgrade their existing plan.

Graham Sutherland, chief executive of BT business, said: “Our research shows that 24% of employees now work regularly out of the office.  As part of our strategy to offer a portfolio that provides value for money and meets the changing needs of businesses, we’ve designed our new mobile plans to cater for this.

“Our new plans give customers the connectivity they need to help them stay productive when out and about, along with the flexibility to choose a plan that suits their way of working.”
