BT launches cloud-based phone service for small businesses

Cloud Voice to offer “future-proof” office phone system using BT internet connection

BT Business has today launched a cloud-based phone system for small and medium businesses; BT Cloud Voice.

The phone giant’s new offering will allow users to make calls across single or multiple office locations and access handling features such as conferencing, call recording, desktop sharing, using only a BT internet connection and IP phone.

The launch is said to provide small firms with a “more flexible, future-proofed service” with no separate maintenance contacts, and set-up managed through an online portal giving administrators the ability to add new and additional users and set call preferences.

The service is available in three packages – Basic, Connect; for more than just a phone system, and Colloborate for mobile workers looking to use multiple devices and features such as audio and web conferencing.

BT Business CEO, Graham Sutherland, commented: “60% of UK small and medium enterprises are already seeing the benefits of cloud-based applications. With an ever more flexible workforce, using a cloud-based telephony system is a natural step for many businesses.”
