The online personal shopper service helping consumers find what they need – even when offline
Founder: Julian Fisher
Launched: March 2013
With countless e-commerce retailers and products available, hunting for products online can be a time-consuming and frustrating experience – especially if you don’t know where to go to find what you’re looking for.
Experienced tech entrepreneur Julian Fisher’s latest venture Bubbles aims to do the work for you – by bringing up relevant product results from common descriptors (such as ‘elegant stylish suit’) the service claims to help users find exactly what they need, at the lowest price. Uniquely, Bubbles also continues scouring the web even when the user is offline, bringing relevant results as they appear without any human intervention required.
Not only is this targeted, 24/7 approach appealing for consumers, retailers benefit as well; consumers get information about the latest products without having to re-visit their site, and the descriptor-based search algorithm ensures a product finds its intended audience. Bubbles’ retail clients are not charged any upfront fees for listing products on the service, but are charged a commission at the point of sale – ensuring they only pay when they benefit.
Launched in March, Fisher’s company is a member of the prestigious US-based Vator Splash accelerator, and the start-up has already raised £470,000 in a series of over-subscribed funding rounds: not bad for a service still in beta. With the continued addition of more retailers only adding to Bubbles’ appeal, 2014 promises to be an exciting year for the company.
