Business owners urged to get involved with Small Business Saturday

With the UK’s third annual Small Business Saturday (SBS) returning this Saturday December 5 2015, small business owners are being urged to get involved with the initiative.

Ideas for supporting the campaign include hosting entrepreneur events or workshops, teaming up with other local businesses and local media, and inviting local MPs to visit your business.

Last year saw around 16.5 million adults go out to support the grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which aims to support, inspire and promote the UK’s five million businesses. The Small Business Saturday bus tour is currently underway visiting cities up and down the country throughout November.

Michelle Ovens, national campaign director, said: “Most people in this country own a small business, work for a small business or know somebody who does so supporting a small business on Small Business Saturday is personal and means you are supporting somebody you know.

“The Small Business Saturday campaign plays a valuable role in focusing the minds of consumers and business people on what small businesses in any sector or line of business can offer in terms of range of products and services, and levels of customer service.”
