Businesses to benefit from ‘London to NYC’ scheme

UK companies to receive help establishing a presence in New York

British companies looking to expand into New York City have been invited by The Glasshouse ‘London to NYC’ programme to join the official delegation in New York in December.

As part of the New York City Economic Development Corporation’s ‘World to NYC’ programme, to promote trade and investment between New York and London, UK businesses are being encouraged to participate by applying for a place.

The programme, due to take place the week of December 6, is designed to help those companies looking to establish a presence in New York within six months of the visit. A range of business sectors will be represented, such as: media, technology, fashion, retail, financial services, green and bioscience.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: “As someone with close ties to that fantastic city, I know there is really no better place to do business in the US than my birthplace, and it’s great that this programme is going to help UK companies and talent to expand even faster.

“I also very much look forward to welcoming a similar delegation from New York to London in the future. Any programme that helps strengthen the relationship between these two great cities has my whole-hearted support.”

The programme will feature five days of events in New York, specifically designed to create new business opportunities through direct introduction to the city’s business community. Events will include: business receptions, workshops, networking, targeted meetings and social events.

Businesses should sign up to the ‘London to NYC’ mailing list to be notified when the application stage opens. Visit: http://www.theglasshouse.net/london-to-nyc/ for more information.
