ByBox acquires drop business

The rapidly growing distribution company expands its network

ByBox, which delivers time critical parts and materials to field service engineers, has acquired BearBox’s drop box business.

BearBox operates the only carrier-independent drop box network in the UK, with over 200 electronic drop box locations, and it is felt it will serve as an ideal complement to the ByBox network. However, despite the merging of the two businesses BearBox will continue as an independent network. “We have always admired BearBox’ approach to innovation and desire to pioneer into new markets,” said Stuart Miller, chief executive of ByBox. “This attitude sits well with ByBox’s commitment to deliver inventive supply chain solutions, both in the field service and online delivery sector. BearBox, formed in 2000, has expanded rapidly with revenue growing from £119,235 in 2002 to £24m in 2007.   Turnover this year is expected to be in the region of £28m and this latest move will further enhance this growth. © Crimson Business Ltd. 2008
