Children’s musical start-up awarded £5,000 in Intuit’s national make a ‘wish’ competition
The Opus Pocus voted overall winner of “Love Our Local Business” campaign alongside 10 UK start-ups
A children’s classical music start-up has been announced as the overall winner of Intuit’s Love Our Local Business competition, a national campaign voted for by the public which encouraged entrepreneurs to submit a “wish” for the chance to receive funding.
The Opus Pocus, which hosts productions of classical musicals in order to encourage children to listen to classical musical, was granted £5,000 after it received the most votes and it now plans to use the funds to expand its offering with an educational app and new website.
In addition to the overall prize, 10 runner-up businesses were awarded £1,000 cash prizes to help support their ideas.
The winning businesses beat over 1,000 entrants with over 255,000 votes cast for the participating companies.

Mike Williams, head of Intuit UK business, commented: “It’s been great to see so many entries, and the appetite amongst small businesses owners to secure extra funding [to help] them succeed.
