CityMunch first start-up selected for inaugural Just Eat Food Tech Accelerator

Amazon, YFood and Google partner with accelerator offering £20,000 funding for 5% equity, as well as networking and mentorship

Shoreditch-based CityMunch, a start-up focused on restaurant deals for foodies featured in Just Started, is the first of five companies chosen to take part in the inaugural Just Eat Food Tech Accelerator programme.

Starting on November 14, the participants will receive 10 weeks of mentorship, networking and £20,000 funding in return for a 5% stake in their business. The programme has partnered with the likes of YFood, Google, Amazon and Dreamstake to help boost the start-ups growth in the food tech industry.

Applications for the accelerator close at midnight on Sunday October 30. A shortlist of businesses will be invited to Just Eat’s London office to pitch to the company before the final four are chosen.

Rob Lynch, founder of CityMunch, commented:

“This is a hugely exciting moment for us. Joining Just Eat’s Food Tech Accelerator will give us the opportunity to take CityMunch to the next level. We cannot wait to learn from a company that has been there and done it.

Stuart Mainwaring, head of corporate ventures at Just Eat, said: “We are delighted that CityMunch will join us as one of five companies in our inaugural Accelerator programme.”
