CitySprint continues ambitious expansion plans with acquisition of Sameday UK

Distribution firm closes eighth acquisition deal in three years

UK-wide distribution network CitySprint is predicting strong growth after buying same day delivery firm Sameday UK.

Backed by independent equity house Dunedin, the deal marks CitySprint’s eighth acquisition in three years and its second within the last six months.

Operating a network of 37 UK service centres and over 2,500 couriers, CitySprint claims to be able to reach over 80% of mainland UK within 60 minutes.

With last year’s revenue hitting the £100m mark, the ambitious distribution firm is hoping to see continued growth following the latest deal.

Patrick Gallagher, chief executive of CitySprint plans to continue the company’s fast rate of expansion, with future acquisitions lined up. He said: “This deal marks yet another important step forward in our growth strategy.

“We are the UK’s leading private same day distribution company and we plan to keep increasing our reach through local acquisitions in order to ensure that we can offer our customers the best possible service.”
